Archive for October, 2026
Nearly two weeks of update.
Apologies for the silence, I was sick like a dog, I needed the rest, real bad. It isn’t quite gone yet either, but I feel way better.
So what IS new?
I started working on (another) small modeling project: A scary looking knuckle duster. It is based on a few ideas that have been swimming in my head, and one of them is related to my novel of course. Erika von Kroenen’s mechanical arm (as if it wasn’t enough of a weapon as it is) features a steel “strike plate” that covers the weak spot where the control cables for her fingers enter each individual fingers. It is basically a thick piece of polished steel engraved with “Kaiser + Reich”, like the slide of her pistol.
She could see the fine braided cables running through each fingers like tendons, the dozens of motors and miniature gearboxes nesting within the forearm struts. How every fingertip ended into a cruel-looking talons made of something else, something much harder, polished to perfection.
It looks like a brass knuckle, and she uses it as such.
Anything else?
Next, I’ve done some work on my 3D model of the Froznovia compound, I did a little bit of detail work on the A-serie housing blocks, basement wells, window frames, glass panes, and bars.
I also scared myself because I completely forgot that I had one of my reference models standing behind the window for scale…
I also think I’ve nailed an amazing material setup for the revised textures of the prisoner’s uniform. No idea if there is a good way for me to release that given the lack of detail texture support in SL, but I haven’t tried to see what it looks like at 2K yet.
I also did a mild amount of writing, new things and I have yet to finish the revision to Alina’s induction.
The Damned Brand is out! Happy Halloween!
A mark of shame, of exile. The Damned Brand symbolizes the point of no return where a prisoner is considered irredeemable and sent on a one-way trip to the underground.

That’s it, that’s this year’s Halloween treat.

Halloween project for 2026!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure that you are familiar with my little Halloween project tradition: Every year, I make a small time-limited project during the first two weeks of October. I make it available (ideally) from October 15th to November 15th.
This year is no different, and I’ll be honest, it took me weeks to remember what I had initially planned to do, but I’m happy that I remembered… Literally 2 weeks ago. Less anxiety.
The Damned Brand
Inspired by one of my favorite visual novel of all times (HENPRI).
The features of the damned brand, so far:
- A proper, scan-able Code38 bar-code in a tattoo/brand format.
- Up to 5 characters, (limited to A-Z 0-9 and a few special characters)
- Configurable color to match your skin tone (or the style you are going for: ink? Laser?).
- Alpha-masked for super sharp & clean scanning.
- An optional “bruise halo”.
- Configurable color & intensity for the bruise effect.
- A public mode to allow others to set/change it. (it acts as a soft-lock too).
- Stealth-mode that makes it non-clickable (you have to right-click and select “touch” in that mode).
- Only 1 mesh total, probably my easiest accessory to handle/edit.
What I’m thinking about adding:
- RLV locking? (A soft-lock to become a hard-lock with the RLV Activator?).
- A “text font” option?
- A way to make it scan-able in-world? (I’m not going to have the time to make a scanner proper, but I could proof-of-concept something)
- “Facility” support? (The scripted system that the Prisoner’s Uniform already uses to synchronize labels)
- More versions with various curvature, for people who would like to wear it on wrists, on thighs… (on their forehead?)
I am open to suggestions and ideas, I still have a few more days, and yes, I’m putting my VR activities on hold to maximize the time I have for this project.
