I just spent a little more than 12 hours on upgrading my dedicated server, apache changed configuration AGAIN so i used a lot of time just to understand what was wrong in my configuration.

Now everything seems back to normal.

Here is a little summary of the sapper work the government majority worked on during the last 5 years. Apparently for some peoples giving up citizen freedom to curb violence and terrorism is a fair trade. Sometimes i wonder why i am still part of this country. Today might be the first stone that will entomb the freedom of information on the French internet. A sad and dark day indeed.

Sometimes you wonder what else will happen, well i finally had enough of my graphic card problems. It seems in my never ending luck i apparently got a defective graphic card. And it is raging on me since like 3 months.

Well i have enough of it now, so i ordered an NVIDIA 8800gtx 🙂
Now i just have to cross fingers that it was really the problem.

okay i submitted the disk to a tech to get the data recovered, he say he couldn’t recover much and that the disk might have electromechanical issues… yeah, maybe, anyway i don’t think the data i was wishing to get back is worth a trip to the lab wich will cost between 500 and 1000€

I am gonna write this as a lesson, it could have been much worse.

I am probably lucky to have a 3 months old backup, not everything is lost this way.

Anyway, show must go on, so i will stop worrying about my data now as it’s prolly lost for good. Time to get some KDC work done ^^

Okay a bit of news, some hours scanning the drive with various tools, some a bit successfull , some not, i am hoping to find on that will be able to recover my most critical files properly.

I keep those interested informed and makes a call, if you know any tool that might help.

I am shaking earth and sky to save what can be saved, if KDC die you will know why.

Ouch , bad odor day, my main computer’s Power supply started smelling some kind of toasted circuitry
, suspicious i shut down my computer, and well, it isn’t starting up again.

I ordered a new PSU, but it will take a few days before it arrive so no need to wonder why i am not in SL ^_^
